(By Randy Snyder)
The Rumbling Bald HOA party was on Friday night, Sept. 18th at the Lakeview Restaurant. Fifty members and guests literally rocked the night away to sounds of the time (fifties -sixties) provided by Mr. “C” the mobile DJ! The featured entertainment was the crowd themselves as about 40 dance enthusiasts watched you tube selections demonstrating some fun dances enjoyed during the era and then danced those dances according to the appropriate selections. They danced to the hokey pokey, the Mexican hat dance, the stroll, the twist and the bunny hop.
Attendees were encouraged to dress in the clothes of the times and many did so! Suzanne Stohl dressed as an elegant prom queen (escorted by the prom king, Doug Flynn) won for the best female outfit and Bill Maddox won as the male dressed most reminiscently! Linda Jowers won the guessing game which was a jar full of Hershey kisses. During the cocktail hour several good sports engaged in hula hoops and hop scotch.
Randy Snyder, President kicked off the evening with a recap of memories from the era including the presidents that served, music memories and more. Even the buffet was "sweet with memories" topped off by a yummy sundae buffet with ice cream, topped with marshmallow, hot fudge, peanuts and chocolate chips!
Information on joining the HOA or taking part in the committee or serving as an officer is encouraged by contacting randy @ email@example.com. The Presidency, VP of Programs, Treasurer and Secretary positions will all be open and must be filled by February for the 2016 year!
