Update - Summer Night
at a Vineyard
This “first ever” event was held on Friday night June 27th at the Burnt Shirt Vineyard in Hendersonville! About 63 patrons attended the event. Most made the drive to the location and 12 took advantage of the van that was set up by the HOA for $10 a person! Regardless, driving or making the journey by the van, no one was disappointed!
Wine tasting for only $3 for a red or white wine was made available from 5:30 for all wishing to take advantage. Forty Nine attendees partook in the wine tasting and were surprised at the knowledge of the hosting employees handling the tasting event and the quality of the wines offered. Two tours of the wine processing and aging room took place, one at 6:15 and one at 7:45. A Day in the Country Cafe catered the event and offered a wonderful selection of cheeses, humus, crackers, breads and other spreads as hors d'oeuvres available up until the buffet was set up at 7PM.
Randy Snyder, president, opened up the event highlighting that this was the first ever event at the vineyard and based on the turn out and the excitement, felt it would become a yearly event. At 6:50 Randy introduced Diane Barrett, Board member and she offered a blessing prior to the buffet opening. The food offered was superb and the compliments profuse with virtually no complaints.
At 7:45 Randy recognized the 18 guests in attendance, commented on the next event on Sept. 7th, “the Sock Hop" (described at left on this page). Randy also thanked the Board and Committee members for their help and recognized that our recent member recruiting drive netted 35 new households or 70 members! The new members present were also recognized. Paula Flowers and staff were available all evening and personified service with a smile!
Throughout the evening continuous music, both dinner and dancing music was offered by the Black Coffee Trio, with their encore performance, due to their appearance at our October Harvest Fest event!
In closing, this event surpassed our expectations and more than fulfilled our mission statement of "planning and producing events that offer fun events, with great food, great entertainment at an excellent value to our members!" Thus, we have now booked the Burnt Shirt Vineyard for Friday June 26, 2015.
